According to Capitol, the long anticipated tapes from the ill-fated Beach Boys album Smile will be released later this year. Obviously, a lot of Beach Boys fans like those of us in the I Said, Yeah! team are remaining cautious, but perhaps cautiously optimistic. The release apparently has the blessing of the original Beach Boys including Brian Wilson and will include both a full ‘album’ concept of Smile as well as outtakes and studio chatter. We can’t wait to hear the final product.
